An update from Ron:
The day started with prayer sitting in the sunshine outside a closed church. Again most of the day was spent in dense forest and steep climbs with a challenging stream to ford on the way with incomplete stepping stones. But arriving near La Verna we entered the sacred forest of mostly beech trees. The forest was filled with birdsong. Eventually arriving at La Verna which feels a very special Christian place. My prayers for a bed for the night were answered and I was given a lovely single ensuite room. Tomorrow Sunday is a rest day and we will be attending church services and quiet walking in the beautiful woods and scenery around La Verna. I feel very blessed to be able to be here and hopefully able to raise some money for EC.
